A St. Michael's Hospital study of chocolate products found on store shelves throughout Toronto has resulted in a national recall and allergy alert issued by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. The chocolate bars, manufactured in Poland, Hungary, Latvia and Germany, contain levels of peanut protein that are sufficiently high to trigger a potentially life-threatening reaction in someone suffering from a peanut allergy, yet there is no warning on the product labels.
