KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 Asia Pulse - The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Bhd (KLSE:NSTP) has posted RM9 million (US$2.36 million) in group pre-tax profit for the financial year ended Aug 31, 2000, down from RM69.8 million for the previous year.
However, group operating profit was higher at RM128 million for the year under review compared with RM113.3 million the year before, NSTP said in a statement announcing its unaudited results Tuesday.
It said that despite the stronger operating performance, the pre-tax profit in the previous year was higher due to the incorporated gains arising from the sale of AMAL Assurance Bhd and KLOFFE Capital Sdn Bhd.
