In an effort to increase the visibility of its parent company, Bicron Crystals and Detectors in Newbury is taking a new name.
Bicron, a unit of French manufacturer Compagnie de Saint-Gobain, on Nov. 1 will be renamed Saint-Gobain Crystals & Detectors, said Bicron president John Crowe. The change is in anticipation of Compagnie de Saint-Gobain's planned listing next spring on the New York Stock Exchange. Compagnie de Saint-Gobain's stock also will continue to be traded on a French exchange.
