The independent Police Complaints Authority is to supervise the inquiry into the death of a Weymouth man today.
The 48 year old man was found lying on a pavement by Dorset police officers at 1.30am. He was taken to Weymouth Police station.
On arrival the man was found to be ill and an ambulance was immediately called. He was taken to Dorchester County Hospital where he died at 9am.
