In a dispute that could have implications for Mexican-US relations, the Secretaria de Reforma Agraria (SRA) has agreed to comply with an order from Mexico's highest court (Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nacion, SCJN) to return land in Baja California state to its original owners.
The land in question, about 18 hectares of oceanfront property, is part of a 15,000-ha site that was expropriated from its original owners under a 1973 presidential decree and transferred to the cooperative farm Ejido Coronel Esteban Cantu.
