If you're tired of debating the merits (or lack thereof) of the current crop of presidential candidates, here's another seasonal debate that's topical and certain to produce controversy: Do you think Halloween should remain on Oct. 31 or be changed to an annual weekend holiday?
Some folks have proposed making Halloween the last Sunday in October, so the holiday always falls on a weekend. They say it's safer for trick-or-treaters and easier for families to enjoy the day together.
Perhaps they have a point. The traditionalists' view is that the whole point of Halloween initially was to celebrate All Hallow's Eve, which has to be on Oct. 31 because All ...
