LIMA, Peru _ Swiss authorities have detected $48 million in three bank accounts belonging to fallen Peruvian spymaster Vladimiro Montesinos and asked for help in a money-laundering investigation, Justice Minister Alberto Bustamante announced late Thursday.
Speaking to reporters as he left the presidential palace Thursday night, Bustamante said Peru has appointed a special investigative judge after receiving information about three bank accounts belonging to the Montesinos, until last month the powerful intelligence chief and closest confidante to President Fujimori.
