On the way home from corrective heart surgery at Children's Hospital one stormy night last spring, 14-year-old Laura Fazio and her parents were broadsided by a truck that fled the scene and left them amazed no one was seriously injured.
"It was miraculous," Laura's mother, Susan Fazio, said yesterday from their Braintree home. "We feel if she can live through that impossible accident not to be injured in that somehow she will get through this, too."
