Older Aircraft Lose Out To Rising Costs
Values of hushkitted Stage 2 aircraft are reeling from the effects of the sustained hike in fuel prices, likely hastening their demise.
Stage 2 aircraft, already subject to rising maintenance costs and operational constraints associated with noise will find the added pressure or high fuel prices intolerable. The value of the oldest B727-200HADVs (hushkitted to Stage 3) built in 1972 amounted to over $4 million three years ago.
