The Malaysian government is expected to announce new appointments to Malaysia Airlines in the near future.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ling Liong Sik has stated that a foreigner will be appointed to the position of chief executive officer and a new chairman has also been identified, but he refused to name the candidates. Ling said an announcement would be made 'when the environment is conducive' according to The Associated Press.
