Saving their energy for the final debate Sunday night on Minnesota Public Radio, Minnesota's leading U.S. Senate candidates kept a light campaign schedule Sunday morning and afternoon.
Republican U.S. Sen. Rod Grams, seeking to shore up his support among women and suburbanites, worked shopping malls in the Twin Cities, while DFL challenger Mark Dayton gave pep talks to teams of campaign workers at a couple of metro area locations.
Independence Party nominee James Gibson also spent the day in the Twin Cities.
Dayton cut short his itinerary to prepare for the last of 15 debates among the leading candidates.
