Christina Ann McNichol's mom, Carolynne, a single parent, got a job with a talent agency in the Big Smog so she knew when job openings came up for child actors like her daughter and son Jimmy McNichol.
That's how Kristy McNichol got her start in show biz, which eventually led her to two Emmys for her supporting role in the '70s hit show, "Family."
