Grant Norman has come home a monster.
The Minnesota native, who grew up near Duluth and in New Brighton, Burnsville and Bloomington before making his name on Broadway, has returned to play the beast in "Beauty and the Beast."
The Disney cartoon-come-to-life plays through Sunday at the Historic State Theatre in Minneapolis.
How this former choirboy becomes a monster is a half-hour affair involving a makeup artist, a wig expert putting pins in his hair and a dresser adding padding to his 6-foot-3 frame.
