Voters across the suburbs won't be casting ballots today for Al Gore or George W. Bush.
In Itasca, they'll be voting for Republican Paul Hinds or Democrat Joan Brennan. In St. Charles, it will be a choice between Democrat Mary Lou Kearns or GOP loyalist Meg Gorecki.
Hinds and company are members of the Electoral College, a faceless group Americans only think about every four years, if at all.
But with the two major presidential candidates locked in a tight battle, there's no avoiding them this go-round.
