DETROIT _ You can tell James Harris has done this a time or two.
After a couple of ranging shots to get his telescopic sight zeroed-in at 100 yards, Harris puts two bullets from his semiautomatic .30-06 so close to each other that the holes merge into one.
"I like that," the Detroit hunter tells his son, James D. Harris. "But I think I'll shoot a few more. I like to feel confident. Not bad for a guy of 79, eh?"
The Harrises will make their usual trip to the Rapid River area in the Upper Peninsula, where the elder man has hunted with family and friends for 55 years. They'll spend 10 days in deer camp, traditional hunters of a kind who are ...
