A Loving Farewell
"The Good Goodbye" (September) touched my heart. My dad was cared for in our home by hospice for a short time in 1997. If there can be anything good that comes from the passing of our loved ones, it's the opportunity to give them the gift of leaving life in a place of comfort and loving care. My mom did that for my dad after nearly 50 years of marriage. Abiding by his wishes, she arranged for him to die surrounded by his family, in the home and the bed that he came to as a bridegroom. I hope that when my time comes I will be as fortunate as my father.
