THE US ammonium nitrate industry continues to face margin pressures. Plagued for the last two years by a severe cost-price squeeze, profit margins for ammonium nitrate were expected to improve once the International Trade Commission (ITC) imposed a duty on Russian material last year. But fresh concerns that Ukrainian material is being dumped into the US has prompted ammonium nitrate producers to seek further relief from the government.
