WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Election officials here launch a painstaking hand count of disputed ballots today that could spur yet another bombshell in the four-day-old presidential election thriller.
Officials from Al Gore's campaign hope the limited review of ballots in the heavily Democratic area will turn up errors calling into doubt - or possibly reversing - Republican George W. Bush's current 327-vote lead in Florida.
"Contrary to claims being made this morning by the Bush campaign, this election is not over," said Gore campaign chairman William Daley.
