MODERN RAILROADS ANNOUNCES 1988 GOLDEN FREIGHT CAR AWARD WINNERS

NEW YORK, May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Conrail (NYSE: CRR) and Santa Fe railroads were the Class A category ($50 million up) co-winners of the Golden Freight Car Award and the Mississippian Railway Cooperative the winner of the Class B category (under $50 million), according to Robert P. DeMarco, publisher.

Each year, Modern Railroads recognizes outstanding achievements in the marketing of railroad freight services by presenting its Golden Freight Car Award.
