OCEAN CITY, N.J.--The six rings on 18-year-old Stephen Cosenza's fingers look trendy, but their purpose is even trendier. They're the "keys" to a wearable computer keyboard, an invention that won him first place in his age category and a $20,000 savings bond from the Duracell/ National Science Teachers Association's Invention Challenge last spring.
Computers keep getting smaller and smaller, to the point where one can now be clipped to a belt. Keyboards haven't kept pace, however. "The smallest keyboards still need to be held in one hand while you type with your free hand," said Cosenza.
