Lindhout family buys company from Wright Brothers
The Wright Brothers Co. and its popular SeaSport boating line have been sold to a local family that is quite familiar with pleasure boats -- the Lindhout family, owners of Boondocks, a boat sales and repair business.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed; according to the county assessor's office, the property and buildings on the Guide Meridian site were sold for $1.8 million. The business itself had annual gross revenues of $4 million in 1998, with a work force of 52 employees. The sale of the company closed on Sept. 29.
