The Pew Charitable Trusts recently announced the recipients of its Pew Fellowships in the Arts for the year 2000, worth $50,000 each, given to artists over age 25 who are living in the Philadelphia area. Recipients in the painting category are Frito Bastien, Frank Bramblett, Emily Brown, Babette Marling and Alice Oh.
The Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation has announced 14 artists for its 2000 Space Program. The artists are given free studio space in the foundation's Tribeca location.
