HE identity of the buyer of Mayfair's In & Out Club remains the property world's best-kept secret. Is it Harrods' Mohamed Al Fayed, billionaire Bill Gates, or a Middle Eastern investment consortium, perhaps? The list of people with [pound]50m to spend can only be so long.

The latest development is that a mysterious Jersey-based company, Anglo-Swiss Holdings, is planning to turn it into a hotel.

The In & Out, more properly known as the Naval & Military Club, made up just one of three buildings, collectively called the Piccadilly Estate; the other two being the American Club and Green Park House, which sits on the corner of Half Moon Street.
