WASHINGTON _ Seeking to answer charges that President Clinton and his wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, have rewarded contributors to her New York Senate campaign with sleepovers at the White House and Camp David, the Clintons on Friday released a list of hundreds of guests that included big donors as well as friends and visiting dignitaries.
White House spokesman Joe Lockhart said political contributions had nothing to do with who made the guest list, which dated to July 1, 1999, when Hillary Clinton began campaigning for the open Senate seat in New York.
