Detroit franchisee La-Van Hawkins last week got some ammunition in his lawsuit against Burger King Corp.
Former Burger King CEO Robert Lowes on Thursday filed a declaration that supports some of Hawkins' complaints against the company. Lowes stated he had to intervene when ``lower levels'' of Burger King management put ``incredible obstacles'' in Hawkins' way.
The company's former director of development for the lake region, Dennis Fletcher, filed a similar declaration supporting Lowes' statements. Burger King said the declarations won't affect the case.
