Organic dairy processor continues to expand via international acquisitions.
Mark Retzloff and Paul Repetto--co-founders of Horizon Organic Dairy--are visionaries.
Back in the late '80s, Retzloff and Repetto teamed up to lobby for the Organic Food Production Act of 1990, which set federal standards for organic food products. The two men had met a few years earlier when Retzloff, owner of Alfalfa's Markets, a chain of Boulder, Colo., natural food stores, purchased organic products from Vestro Foods, which was headed up by Repetto.
