Members of the Rebel Bakers Collective in Ocean Beach preach a mean game of radical left-wing politics, but their management and compensation system would make a supply-sider proud.
A prosperous bakery run by a '60s-style left-wing collective, Rebel Bakers claims to be the only health-food bakery in the city of San Diego. It was started six years ago to fight against the "destruction and degradation of personality, of people as creatures with emotions, of whole races of women, of the working class ...," collective members said in a prepared statement in 1983.
