Nov. 15--Plantation-based Precision Response Corp., the giant call-center operator, just got a bit bigger.
Precision Response has acquired Access Direct, a rapidly growing company based in Cedars Rapids, Iowa. Terms of the all-cash deal weren't disclosed, but the deal boosts the number of Precision Response employees by 1,200 to 11,200.
Precision Response handles inbound customer-care calls for such clients as AT&T, American Express and Ticketmaster. The deal with Access Direct allows Precision Response to call its clients' customers to market new products and services.
