The first public showing of the Hilton Madison Monona Terrace hotel revealed a 14th-floor club room with majestic views of Lake Monona and the State Capitol dome.
Visitors also saw a first-floor lobby lounge that will be open to the public and a model room that featured maple and mahogany furnishings, Internet access and plush bed linens.
As District 19 Ald. Steve Holtzman put it: ``It doesn't have an institutional feel. It's like you're visiting some well-off friends.''
That's right in line with what General Manager John Archibald has in mind.
