ELON ON ISRAEL
There has been much commentary celebrating the fortieth anniversary of the founding of Israel. And not entirely ceremonial, given the crisis of the occupied territories. No one has spoken more trenchantly than Amos Elon, who appeared on 60 Minutes.
Amos Elon's credentials as an enthusiastic citizen of Israel are quite simply unimpeachable. He is of course a renowned author (Israelis: Founders and Sons) and intellectual. Of special interest to those viewing him on 60 Minutes was the gravitas he brought to the question.
