The Supreme Court of Louisiana has issued its decision in the Duncan v. Kansas City Southern (KCSR) lawsuit, which affirmed a lower court finding of liability against the railroad.
This decision was announced after KCSI, the holding company for KCSR and other transportation-related investments, reported its third-quarter earnings. Although the Louisiana Supreme Court reduced the amount of the trial court's verdict, the judgment, if sustained, would result in a one-time, $2.6 million after-tax charge against earnings, or a $.04 charge per share ...
