As I write this, the vote to hand count the thrice-recounted ballots has passed in a show-of-hands vote, which was promptly recounted and sent to the courts. (Insert chad-related joke here. Doesn't have to be funny. Just say "chad." It's the boffo-laff mot du jour.) There has to be a more efficient way to run an election, and Dick Chadman - sorry, Chapman (See? Funny!) has a better suggestion:
- A simple solution to the uproar over confusing ballots, early network election result calls and the notorious Electoral College: At an appointed hour on Election Day we should just cast a nationwide voice vote.
