Researchers at the World Health Organization's Collaborating Center for Prevention and Control of Viral Hepatitis, located at the University of Antwerp in Belgium, propose that a combination hepatitis A and B vaccine two-dose schedule is just as effective as the standard three-dose regimen in children ages one to 11.
This recommendation means, however, that the higher adult dose vaccine instead of the half-dose pediatric vaccine would be administered in those two doses.
