Nov. 14--On a warm May morning four years ago, the telephone rang in Jeanne Marie Cooper's private studio in Sacramento.
An official sounding voice 3,000 miles away came on the line: "This is the White House. Is Jeanne Marie in?"
Her heart skipped a beat. "Could it really be?" she asked herself. "I was totally surprised."
She composed herself and managed to answer "yes."
