Republicans yesterday criticized a top Democratic activist who is conducting a background investigation of Florida's 25 Republican members of the Electoral College, saying he had "no business" trying to influence the outcome of the Florida vote.
Cliff May, spokesman for the Republican National Committee, labeled as "improper and inappropriate" efforts by Bob Beckel, head of the Washington-based media and communications firm Bob Beckel & Associates, to obtain any background information on the electors.
