THE Roman Catholic Church is caught in the midst of unprecedented turbulence.
Its Archbishop of Westminister, the Most Rev Cormac Murphy-O'Connor, faces being sued by families who allege a paedophile priest was moved to an airport chaplaincy where he re-offended because the Archbishop, then Bishop of Arundel and Brighton, did not report him to the police at the time of the earliest complaints.
Fr Michael Hill was freed in September after serving part of a five-year sentence.
