With a phalanx of armed guards and under a high threat of terrorist attack, Defense Secretary William Cohen met Saturday with U.S. troops posted in Qatar to protect warehouses full of army weaponry.
There are 67 U.S. soldiers at this barren Persian Gulf outpost, but it's a position critically important to the United States. More than 100 tanks and 100 Bradley Fighting Vehicles are pre-positioned here to be able to respond quickly in case of any new attack in the region by Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
