Associated New Media has confirmed that it's to drop the "elitist" Charlotte Street brand in favour of a new portal, femall.co.uk, within the next six to eight weeks.
The decision follows intense trade press speculation that the media company was planning to scrap the site entirely.
The new site, as reported by NMA (24 August), has a closer editorial tie-in with Associated Newspapers offline brands (Daily Mail, Evening Standard, Metro), with the editorial team moving from Charlotte Street to the Associated offices in Kensington. It will also look at a closer commercial relationship, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
