I am a 17-year-old student and I attend St. Edward High School in Elgin. Over these few weeks, my second-hour government class has had countless discussions on the election itself and whether or not the president should by elected by popular vote or by the Electoral College. After hearing pros and cons on both methods of voting, I believe that the president should be elected by popular vote because less populated states and greatly populated states will have the opportunity to vote based on what the citizens want.
