Birmingham's rising star in the glittering world of jewellery is Maria Hanson.
Aged 33, Maria teaches at the School of Jewellery and has been short-listed for this year's Jerwood Prize, which is as prestigious to craftspeople as the Turner Prize is to fine artists.
For the Sense of Occasion exhibition, Maria has created a piece called A New Communion.
It is a black board on which are seated 13 chalices, a main cup in the middle and 12 around the edge.
