3Com has introduced software and hardware for its Total Control 1000 multiservice access platform that will let service providers offer VPN services over leased lines and DSL connections. The company also announced software integration with its Total Control 500 DSL Access Multiplexer product that will let providers sell DSL-based VPN services.
The addition of VPN capabilities to 3Com's Total Control products could help smaller service providers compete for business customers seeking VPN services.
