SAUDI ARABIA us drawing up plans to privatise Saudi Railways Organisation and extend its 1394km rail network which links the capital Riyadh with the Gulf port of Dammam. This could result in an investment of Riyals 17 billion ($US 4.5 billion) in the construction of new lines during the next five years.
