SINCE EXPANDING ITS PRACTICE TO Little Rock in 1998, the Wilkes & McHugh law firm of Tampa, Fla., has filed about 100 lawsuits against nursing homes in Arkansas and settled about 20 of them.
The firm's first case to go before a jury resulted in a $3 million verdict in July against Stillmeadow Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Malvern and its parent companies, Diversicare Leasing Corp. and Diversicare Management Services, for the wrongful death of a 94-year-old patient.
