Sempra Atlantic Gas applauds Nova Scotia Power Conversion to Natural Gas.

HALIFAX, Nov 23, 2000

Sempra Atlantic Gas today joined the rest of Nova Scotia in applauding the conversion of Nova Scotia Power's Tufts Cove generating station, allowing it to switch fuel sources from oil to natural gas.

"This is truly significant," said Hal Snyder, President of Sempra Atlantic Gas. "Natural gas from Nova Scotia provides Nova Scotia Power with the ability to use a more environmentally-friendly, more efficient, more reliable and more plentiful fuel source."

Sempra Atlantic Gas began construction of Nova Scotia's natural gas distribution system recently in nearby Burnside Industrial Park and to homes in neighbouring Crichton Park in Dartmouth.
