Over and over, Nou Vang tossed a tennis ball to the teenage girl who had sparked his interest the moment he saw her at Friday's Hmong New Year celebration in St. Paul.
The 18-year-old Minneapolis resident said he would keep up the traditional courtship game as long as it took to find out if the object of his affection, Khou Chang, was receptive. More than an hour later, she gave him her phone number.
A love connection in the making?
