Nov. 24--Gold Crown Addie's, a Troy mainstay that was the last retailer to move out of the Troy Atrium in the early 1990s, is closing its doors forever.
Addie and Rom Romano, owners of the greeting card and collectibles store, will hold a quitting-business/retirement sale beginning today that will continue until the store's merchandise is gone.
The store, now in Hudson Valley Plaza on Route 4 in Troy, carries traditional Hallmark Co. products as well as collectible series.
Addie Romano said the business remains successful and that the decision to close was based on the couple's desire to travel.
