BALTIMORE CITY SICK LEAVE POLICY CHALLENGED
BALTIMORE, June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The Maryland State Teachers Association, together with its local affiliate, the Baltimore City Teachers Association, has challenged Baltimore City's sick leave policy.
A hearing on the matter has been set for 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 20, before a hearing examiner for the State Board of Education. The hearing is scheduled to be conducted at the State Board of Education offices in Baltimore.
The class-action appeal challenges the legality of the city's policy of making sick leave available to teachers only as it is "earned" during the course of a school year.
