King Soopers recalled almost 20,000 pounds of ground beef Wednesday after federal inspectors found E. coli in a random sample Monday.
So far, no one has reported becoming ill from the potentially deadly bacteria.
The only meat affected by the recall is labeled ``sell by Oct. 5,'' said Bob Nourse, director of meat and seafood sales for King Soopers.
The meat was sold at 118 King Soopers and City Market stores throughout Colorado. Nourse refused to say which days the meat was sold at the stores.
If the average customer bought 2 pounds of the hamburger, that would mean 10,000 consumers ...
