Glenn Close is anything but plain. And she's not very tall. Which is why her convincing performances as Sarah Witting, the somewhat dowdy Kansas farm wife, has captured the imaginations of critics and viewers.
As she does regularly, Close convincingly changes her on-screen persona.
Sarah Witting has little in common with the unbalanced sexual predator in Fatal Attraction, the driven newspaper executive in The Paper or the gay military officer in TV's Serving in Silence.
And don't forget her wacky role in 101 Dalmatians.
