Denver is taking steps to expand its photo radar program to crack down on motorists who run red lights.
That was among a handful of new traffic-enforcement measures endorsed by a City Council committee Wednesday. The changes include:
* Booting the autos of 500 drivers who were caught speeding by photo radar but failed to pay the $40 fine, even after being ordered into court. City crews on Monday will begin attaching boots, which are a mechanical device that immobilize autos when locked onto a wheel and axle.
* Increasing the photo-radar speeding fine to $80 when the violation occurs in a school ...
